Trailing Vortex Evolution in Weakly Stratified Fluid |

These data come from a computer code that numerically solves dynamical equations for 3D fluid motions in a density stratified, viscous, incompressible fluid. The vorticity magnitude field is shown in this Slicer Dicer image. Projected maxima are rendered on the three background surfaces, and transparency is used to show isosurfaces representing the vortex cores. Data are provided courtesy of NorthWest Research Associates, Inc. The research that led to the creation of the data was sponsored by the Office of Naval Research and the Department of the Navy. |
